A series of events on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the National Leader are organized by the Military Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev.
Parents of Shehids (Martyrs) who studied at the military lyceum, participants of the Patriotic War, and teaching staff also participated in the event named "Military Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev is the first place where the name of the Great Leader was eternized”, held at the Training and Educational Center of the Combined Arms Army.
During the event, the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Shehids (Martyrs) who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
Chief of the Military Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev, Colonel Elshad Hasanov and other speakers noted that the National Leader, who has always kept the basis of statehood, national unity and equality in his activity, paid attention to all areas, including the field of army development in Azerbaijan. Heydar Aliyev saw the basis of the establishment of a powerful army in the training and upbringing of officers. For this purpose, on March 1998, 13, National Leader Heydar Aliyev issued an order to establish the Nakhchivan branch of the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski.
In order to improve the military personnel training system and meet the national army's demand for professional personnel, the Military Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev was established on the basis of the Nakhchivan branch of the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated February 27, 2004. Thus, Military Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev is the first place where the name of the Great Leader was eternized.
It was noted that hundreds of patriotic, highly educated, physically healthy and disciplined young people are trained in the Military Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev, which started its activities with 56 cadets. Graduates of the military lyceum participated in the April battles, the Gunnut operation, and the 44-day Patriotic War, and they were awarded many orders and medals.
It was noted that from now on, as an exemplary educational institution, confident steps will be taken to provide the armed forces with educated, capable, dignified, and patriotic officers worthy of the name of a genius.
In the artistic part of the event, the cadets recited poems dedicated to the Great Leader and performed literary and artistic compositions with musical pieces.
In the end, a documentary film about the glorious life of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was shown.
In the Military Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev, sports competitions were held among cadets regarding the 100th anniversary of the National Leader.
Cadets competed in mini-football, volleyball, table tennis, arm wrestling and chess. At the end, individual and team winners were awarded.
