On April 1, a commemoration ceremony dedicated to the birthday of the National Hero of Azerbaijan Shukur Hamidov was held with the participation of a group of servicemen of the Ministry of Defense. The ceremony participants visited the hero's grave and laid flowers at it.
At the remembrance ceremony, the memory of the Shehids (Martyrs) who died for the sovereignty, territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and the liberation of our lands was honored with observing a minute of silence.
During the ceremony, it was said about the glorious life path of our hero, his service to the Fatherland as a patriotic officer, in particular, about his courage and heroism shown during the April battles and the Patriotic War.
It was emphasized that the courage showed by Sh. Hamidov was highly appreciated by the head of state, Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Sh. Hamidov had been awarded orders and medals.
