A meeting with a group of reserve and retired servicemen was held at the Training and Education Center of the Armed Forces on April 26.
The memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the Martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored with observing a minute of silence.
The Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Kerim Veliyev speaking at the meeting, emphasized the attention paid by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the army, and informed the meeting participants in detail about the reforms carried out in the sphere of development of military capability, the progress achieved in this way and spoke about merits of veterans in this issue. He emphasizing the great role of the reserve and retired servicemen in the military-patriotic education of young people recommended them to further intensify their efforts.
The veterans, expressing the hope that such meetings will be held periodically, have discussed ways to solve some problems and put forward fruitful proposals, as well as appealed to the Ministry of Defense in regard with the consideration of a number of issues.
In the end, a joint lunch was organized.
