The process of providing permanent residence apartments to servicemen (active-duty servicemen, discharged servicemen, or their heirs) who distinguished themselves by exemplary military service for 20 calendar years or more continues in order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On measures to strengthen the social protection of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated December 28, 2011.
At the events held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, journalists, servicemen and members of their families, the memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, and Shehids, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
The speakers highlighted the work done to further improve the social and living conditions of servicemen as part of the reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
It was noted that on December 8, 2023, a drawing procedure was held at the Training and Educational Center of the Azerbaijan Army by the “Housing Commission for the provision of permanent residence apartments”, taking into account the numbers of family members, transparency and fairness, as well as the principle of priority. Based on the choice between the servicemen, permanent residence apartments with the appropriate area were distributed in the Absheron district, Sabunchi and Surakhani districts of Baku.
The servicemen, in turn, expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for the attention and care.
