Land forces
Ground Troops are an integral part of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
Ground Troops consist of various military groups and brigades directly reporting to the Ministry of Defence. The Ground Troops are staffed by the graduates of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan High Military School and other military schools. Today the Ground Troops proudly defend the lands of Azerbaijan, including the areas bordering on the lands occupied by the Armenian armed groups, running over 1000 km in length. Established in 1918.
