Within the scope of the official visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, a meeting between the Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Georgi Kvirikashvili was held on 22 May.
The sides, noting that the Azerbaijani-Georgian relations are built on the basis of friendship and mutual trust, stressed that periodic working meetings and reciprocal visits of heads of state spurred further strengthening of ties between the countries. They added that these relations that meet mutual interests, serve to ensure peace, stability and security in the region.
At the meeting it was once again noted that, as countries opposing terrorism and separatism, Azerbaijan and Georgia should develop military cooperation and provide mutual support in these issues.
