NEL-2 of infantry battalion of Azerbaijan Armed Forces held within the framework of NATO Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) program in Karaheybat Training Centre ends today.

On 1 June, the Distinguished Visitors’ Day of NATO 2nd level evaluation exercise of OCC battalion of Azerbaijan Armed Forces took place at Garaheybat Training Centre.

Major-General Erhan Uzun, the Chief of Staff of NATO Allied Land Command (Izmir/Turkey), who pays visit to Azerbaijan due to NATO 2nd level evaluation exercise of Azerbaijan Armed Forces’ infantry battalion within the framework of Operational Capabilities Concept program, met with Azerbaijani peacekeepers.

On 31 May, Defence Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov met with the Chief of Staff of NATO Allied Land Command (Izmir/Turkey) Major General Erhan Uzun who pays visit to Azerbaijan due to NATO 2nd level evaluation exercise of Azerbaijan Armed Forces’ infantry battalion within the framework of Operational Capabilities Concept program.

The NATO re-evaluation  level 2 (NEL-2) of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces’ infantry battalion, declared into Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) Pool of Forces,  launched in Baku within the framework of OCC program.

Within the framework of the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) Program, the NATO evaluation level 1 (NEL-1) of the OCC reconnaissance company of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces, declared into the OCC Pool of Forces,  was conducted.

A working meeting on the "War-Game Assessment" was held in the Armed Forces Military Academy according to the NATO-Azerbaijan Joint Action Plan to assist some areas of the military education system of the Armed Forces in Azerbaijan.

The First Deputy of Defence Minister – Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Colonel General Najmaddin Sadikov attended NATO's Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Sessions in “Resolute Support” format held on May 17 at NATO Headquarters in Brussels (Kingdom of Belgium).

The First Deputy of Minister of Defence - Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Najmeddin Sadikov departs for Brussels (Kingdom of Belgium) to attend NATO's Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Sessions in “Resolute Support” format.

The NATO Partnership and Cooperative Security Committee meeting took place on 2 May in NATO HQ Brussels. During the meeting, the Committee discussed the "Planning and Review Process" assessment document of Azerbaijan for 2017 within the "NATO + Azerbaijan" format.

According to the rotation plan, a group of 54 Azerbaijani military servicemen returned from Afghanistan to Baku. The group has been serving in Afghanistan within NATO-led non-combat "Resolute Support" mission.

A group of 54 Azerbaijani military personnel was sent to Afghanistan in accordance with the plan and rotation for serving within NATO-led "Resolute Support" mission in Afghanistan.

According to the order of the Minister of Defense, an event on "Academic writing and publishing" was held at the Azerbaijan Armed Forces Military Academy in accordance with the NATO-Azerbaijan joint action plan for providing assistance to certain spheres of military education.

Within the framework of Defence Education Enhancement Program (DEEP), seminars on the topics "Strategy and force planning" and "Operational designing and planning" were held in Baku with the participation of academic teaching staff of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces Military Academy and the NATO/US Experts Group.

A working meeting with a group of NATO experts on the implementation of the documents of "Planning and Review Process" (PARP) and "Individual Partnership Action Plan" (IPAP) relating to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in the Department of the International Military Cooperation on March 13.

Azerbaijan's Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with the delegation led by the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph Dunford on February 16.
